It feels so strange to write about yourself and try to sound humble yet professionally competitive at the same time. I have no intention of bragging about how good I am as a photographer and convince you to hire me for your upcoming event or studio session. Photography, as any other form of art is very subjective and I hope every individual reading this introduction will draw their own conclusion about my photographic style based on content presented in my portfolio.

I was born in Yerevan, capital of Armenia. In 1995, a few short years after graduating from State Polytechnic University of Armenia, majoring in Computer Science, I moved to New York in order to advance in my career as an IT engineer. I started working as a Telecommunication Analyst and quickly advanced into Cisco Certified Networking Engineer. Throughout my career, I designed, built and maintained many small and large network infrastructures of voice and data communications for various nation-wide companies.

Interestingly enough, photography was my irreplaceable companion throughout my whole life. I was about 12 years old when I experienced the magic of seeing an image appearing on a sheet of paper sunk into developer for the very first time. Nowadays, I prefer to photograph digitally for obvious advantages that it has to offer over a film, but classical black and white film photography will always have a special place in my heart.

I love to travel and take my gear bag with me wherever I go. Regardless of the exceptional quality work that I do today, I do admire a work of many of my colleagues and do my best to collaborate with them which is a huge source of inspiration for me personally. I am an active member of PPA (Professional Photography of America) and an accolated member  of WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photography International).

Although, my work spans through the variety of photographic genres such as: Weddings, Portraits, Landscape, Architecture, Macro & Still Life; my main subject of photography is people and I strive to make them look their best. With most of the models, couples and clients I worked with over the years, I develop long lasting relations regardless of their geographic locations throughout the world.

Generally speaking, I tend to think that life looks better through the camera’s lens then it does in reality and that is what drives me to photograph constantly. I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to say that I have an unexplainable inner urge to photograph a moment and make it better in post-production. Yes, I am a romantic suffering OCD.

I love to work with people who value my time, trust my expertise, and prefer their photos to be printed; rather than keeping them in their computers.

I am also a husband and father to a daughter and a son who support and encourage me to do what I love.

A few quotes that guide my approach in photography:

“It is not a photograph until it is printed”
